I'm a self-taught artist. My primary school art and H.S. architecture classes made a lasting impression however. This was back when hands-on practice was with pencils, triangles, protractors, templates, and straight-edges. Those classes are why I believe I paint renderings of old posters, magazine, and book covers, and minimalist geometric shapes. The first art I remember making where I received a compliment was in 3rd grade for my lettering of events posters. This was also at the same time I was in a phase of drawing full 18-hole golf course layouts in pencil and crayon on long 15 foot pieces of craft paper rolls.
